Just trying to get some general idea on who's running in the Inferno GT "spec" class.
Opening day is Sunday the 20th. Hope to a good turnout this year with this class. |

| I'm going to try to make as many Sunday on-road races as possible, and I'll have my Inferno GT with me every time. It's a really fun class to run at Leisure Hours. |

|

Only the second week of racing and I'm out.
Burned up my second gear again and had to order parts. Going to rebuild everthing possible. Clutch bearings, bearings in the gears, new gears, etc.
I love this Inferno GT and don't have real knowledge regarding rebuilding and parts so have to stick with stock set-ups.
Will be showing up for Saturday practice after the rebuild. Will be bringing the bike out again this year for Saturdays practices. Later guys. |

Walt,
I feel the same way. I feel like once I get the IGT to handle well with my "driving ... style" only engine fine tuning and tire rotation will be needed. I'm bringing the GT to the track every raceday.
The track was well prepared on Sunday. The traction was very good.
On my GT I installed my Ofna slicks which resulted in instant rear hookup.
I raced with the Dodge Viper body (better aerodynamics than the Subaru). A few more race/tuning days and I'll be driving more predictably and really having more fun.
My Touring Car was really planted on the track yesterday. Twice I made it through the corner at the end of the straight by dropping the throttle to halfway, turning, then going wide open again. I have never been that brave, or had a chassis setup before that would work that well.
Hope to see you next week. |

Gerald,
What parts are you breaking?
Are you stripping second gear?
Why don't you give me a call, or let's look the clutch over at the track before you practice. |

I'll be adding a new rule. 6x12 bearing will be allowed in the two speed in place of the bushing. this will save the second gear.
Right now only the kyosho v slick is allowed for tires. I'm looking at some new tires that are the same size and are pre mounted at a good price. They are useing them at the Kissimmee track in Florida. Up to two gallons fuel on a set. They are on my car so check them out see what you think. |

Hey Bernie:
Yes, in fact, I'm replacing the bushings with 6x12 bearings. Trying desperately to stop the second gear from destroying itself. Putting regular bearings in the clutch bell in place of the roller bearings. New screws for the motor mounts. New brakes, etc. Hopefully this will help. Also will lube the 2-speed clutch? That silver thing that expands to shift. Mabey it's hanging up too long?
Probably won't be back to the track for a while. Want to work out the bugs first. 85 miles each way to the track. Want to make the most of the time there, and rebuilding the second gear all the time gets frustrating. |

| Up to 2 gallons on a set of tires? Fantastic, all the shops on my side of town were out of stock on V slick tires. I'll be sure to the tires on Bernie's car. |

|
|
Hey Ken:
The guys in Florida at SS Speedway were running Twister Tires. Those were also used recently at the big race in Kissimmee, Florida.
You can google/search for the SS speedway in Tampa or try RonnieSetser.com. He is the owner of the track and has a website you can order tires from if you would like. It seems that Kyosho allowed these tires at Kissimmee Raceway, why? I don't know. Perhaps, they also have become frustrated with all the complaints from everybody regarding glueing of tires. Yes, I'm still bitchin about glueing tires! |

| Yes the Twister tires are the ones I'm looking at. But, V slicks are the only tire allow at this time. If you use the 1/8 th scale off road foam in them you can get about 2 gallons on them also. |
