The new proline tire, Suburb. What compound is best for indoors at LHR. What insert? I have a T4, and would be using them in the rear of the truck only. I've seen a lot of people using this tire on truck, and buggy. On what track conditions are they most effective? How good are they?

Most of the tires you are refering to are probably J-concepts bar codes actually and they would be Gold compound. I still do not think you can go wrong with pink Losi taper pins...... I've been trying both and my lap times are best on tapers but the cars "feel" better on bars. But when it boils down to it most of the problem is me. This is where Nochanski chimes in and agrees!!! Thanks, I have barcodes, pink taper pins, double dees, and I bought Pro-line MC (clay compound) Suburbs. I liked the tapers at Leisures in Cresthill, I guess it's the same dirt. I'll be running spec class truck. I have a T4, with a 13.5 LRP X-12 Vector motor, Sphere comp 07' esc, and Orion 3800,30C lipos. What pinion/spur combo is recommended. People are telling me to gear very high, I geared at 24/81 and the motor felt kinda hot, esc was cool, but they tell me to NOT gear lower, as a lower gearing can cause heat build up. This is different than I remember with brushed motors. What do you guys gear your trucks at?

Don:
Your motor was temping at 135. That is not "kinda hot", that's barely warm. You can probably go up to 190 deg or so. Brushless escs do not get very hot with 13.5. Brushless technology is way more efficient than brushed stuff. If you feel the motor fade after 2-3 min, you have overgeared.

As for tires, I think pink tapers are the way to go, or taper front/barcode rear. Your truck was pushing bad with barcodes in the front.

Thank you very much Jay. I was worried about burning up a new motor. The 24/ 81 gearing felt strong, guess I'll have to get used to the differences in brushed versus brushless motors. As for tires, I bought a pair of MC Suburbs for the rear, and will try pink tapers up front. Now if I could just drive like you, I'd be fine! Thanks again for your help, and your time.
