Construction Update – November 28, 2008

Coming from I-80 and Rt 53
(If your coming from Arsenal road there is no change)

Schweitzer Road is now closed permanently between Brandon Road and Patterson Road.

You must use Laraway Road (west) to Patterson Road (south)
to Schweitzer Road (west)

I'm not sure how many people look at this, but I figured it's in need of an update after I got the run-around trying to get to LH's yesterday.

Laraway Rd West of Rt 53 is closed, and the detour signs take you to who-knows-where.

If you're coming from the North or East, still exit I-80 onto Rt. 53 South, but make a right at the first stop light, which is Patterson Rd.

The next part isn't really difficult, but you might want to take a look at a map before you attempt it. You're just going to keep following along Patterson, but there are a couple of 'spurs' in the road that might not be super clear which way to go.

After you go under the railroad underpass, the road curves right, but you could stay straight (you want to curve to the right). Shortly after that the road curves left and again you could stay straight, but curve to the left instead.

You'll get to a stopsign at Brandon road where you have to be careful because traffic from your right doesn't stop. Go straight across and keep following Patterson all the way to Schweizer Rd where you turn West to get to Leisure Hours.

I always take 80 to Larkin south, then right on Brandon , and then either right on Patterson and go to Schweitzer , or right on Laraway and the left on to Patterson .

And for those who take I-55S exit at Arsenal Road.....Stephan Road, Noal Road and Millside Road are partially blocked now and no longer be able to access to S. Vetter Road. However, now S. Vetter road is completely straight thru (south) the forest and will intersect with Arsenal Road.

So...all you have to do is stay with Arensal Road heading East, pass Stephan Road...next big intersection should be S. Vetter Road/Bass Line Road. Make a left (go north) then keep on going S. Vetter Road till hit Schweitzer, then make a left (WEST) to the track. I think it is a lot easier to drive now.

Don't count on GOOGLE and your GPS, I was driving thru the forest the whole time while watching my GPS...kinda cool.

Now Patterson is closed between Larkin and Schweitzer, so you've pretty much got to take Rt. 53 South past the speedways and follow the detour and/or CPX or Autobahn Country Club signs.
